Leonard Leon Dilts, from Boone Colorado, passed away in Colorado Springs on Wednesday, January 23, 2019.
Leonard was born on July 10, 1934 He graduated high school in Boone, Colorado. Leonard married Donna Jean Whitman in Raton, New Mexico on April 25, 1956. He served his country with great pride in the United States Air Force for twenty years. Leonard was honorably discharged as a Disabled Veteran.
Leonard was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Leonard and Donna travelled throughout the U.S. in their motorhome and took frequent trips to Cripple Creek. They were long time members of the International Polka Club.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Leonard Lee and Catherine Ann (Grotta) Dilts; a beloved granddaughter, Nicole Deseree’ Dilts; a brother, Donald Dale Dilts; and a sister, Linda Scheryl (Bloom).
He was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Ray Dilts; his wife, Donna Jean (Whitman); his parents, Daniel Webster and Viola Ethel (Surber) Dilts; his sisters: Novelle Bernice (Kolmorgan), Delores Louise (Murr), Lola Fern (Asbridge), Joan Lorette (Ramsey), Glenna (Kotinek); and his brother, Rhealdin Richard Dilts.
A visitation will be held from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. with a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 E. Fountain Boulevard. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
