LeRoy Harold Fischer, 93 years, passed away on May 3, 2025. He was born in Mankato, Minnesota, to Adam and Clara Fischer, and graduated from Mankato High School in 1950.

LeRoy was a Navy Veteran serving as an aviation technician. He received the rank of AT2. All of his billets were at Naval Air Stations at Key West, Florida, and Hutchinson, Kansas. He was discharged in 1955, and attended Mankato State College, graduating with a degree in Industrial Arts. He taught “shop” classes for 30 years at Mankato, Minnesota.

He was married to Julie Sanderson, who predeceased him.  They had two daughters: Beth Scott of Walnut Creek, California, and Sarah Fischer of Colorado Springs.

LeRoy moved to Colorado Springs after retirement, and became a member of the Dutch Nelson Chapter of the Korean War Veterans Association and American Legion Post 209. He was honored in 2016, to attend the Honor Flight to Washington, DC. LeRoy never met a hand he didn’t shake and enjoyed many friendships with other Veterans. He volunteered with Meals on Wheels and the Adult Literacy Society.

LeRoy is survived by his wife of 28 years, Beverly Seefeldt.  They spent many happy years working in their yard. He did the “yardening,” and she did the “gardening.” Through her son and his wife, Wade and Patty Metzler, of Lafayette, Colorado, he became “GPA” to Rachael Metzler of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Weston Metzler of Madison, Wisconsin.

LeRoy had a Dad joke sense of humor and enjoyed puns. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Herb, Bob, and Dave.

Thank you to Brighton Hospice for the kindness and loving care he received.

Inurnment will take place at 2:00 p.m. on June 5, 2025, at the Shrine of Remembrance Veterans Honor Court, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910.
