Lisa A. Collacott, 48, went to be with the Lord on October 30, 2015.

She is survived by her mother, Viola Torres; her loving husband of 20 years, John Collacott; son, Private Daniel Collacott U.S.M.C.; daughter, Dominique Collacott; sister, Elaine (Phil Workman) Torres Workman; brother, Felix Torres Jr.; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Felix A. Torres.

Lisa was born in San Jose, CA on August 31, 1967. She grew up in Colorado Springs and graduated from Mitchell High School in 1986. She later moved to Las Vegas, NV where she received her B.A. in Communications & Journalism from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. While living in Las Vegas, Lisa had a career as freelance writer and a substitute teacher.

In 2008, she moved back to Colorado Springs with her husband and children. She worked as a reporter for Colorado Community Media and the Tri-Lakes Tribune until July 2013. In 2013 Lisa was awarded by the Colorado Press Association for Second Place for Best Sustained Coverage for the Black Forest Fire, Second Place for Best Feature Story and Third Place for Best Environmental Story. In 2010 and 2011, Lisa competed in the Mrs. Colorado Pageant representing Monument and Southern Colorado respectively.

Lisa was a devoted and loving wife, mother, daughter, aunt and friend who will be deeply missed.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 9th at 10:00 a.m. at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, CO 80910. Family and friends will be received at Olympian Plaza Reception and Event Center, 975 S. Union Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80910 following the services.
