Lois E. Suriano, age 78, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2013. She was a resident of Colorado Springs for 54 years.

Lois was born on May 3, 1935 in Loveland, Colorado to Lewis and Florence (Schoonover) Kitts. On July 31, 1954 she married Richard M. Suriano in Greeley, Colorado. She was Volunteer President of the Board at Sunny Vista Living Center, Director of the Colorado Springs Multiple Sclerosis Society, had retired from Pikes Peak Partnership, and was a Chemistry Lab Supervisor at Penrose Hospital.

She enjoyed playing bridge with Woodmen Valley Bridge and Tri Delta Bridge. She was also a member of Tri Delta Alumni in Colorado Springs and previously served as the National Treasurer of the Tri Delta Sorority.

She is survived by her husband, Richard M.; her sons: Michael G. Suriano (Julia Lochra), Jeffrey L. Suriano, Richard B. Suriano (Susan Penrod); her sisters: Linda Whatley (Cy), and Louise Peddycord (Clyde); 2 grandchildren: Kyler Tiebout, and Madison Melia; 3 nephews; and 1 niece. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 6, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church, 219 East Bijou Street with a reception to follow at the church.

Memorials in Lois’ name may be made to First Presbyterian Church, the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region, the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Colorado Springs, or to the charity of the giver’s choice.
