Lola DeYoung, 90, passed away August 3, 2021, in Pueblo, Colorado.

She was born June 23, 1931, in Tipton, Kansas. She grew up in Colorado Springs and married Ralph Pettinari, a high-school sweetheart at St. Mary’s High School. Following his death at 55 of Lou Gehrig’s disease, she then married Gerald DeYoung, who died last December of COVID.

Lola and Ralph raised eight children. She is survived by children Sharry Harper, Dave (Gayle) Pettinari, Janet Pettinari, Ken Pettinari, and Ann Forsyth; her sister, Eileen (Bill) Bash, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Children who are deceased include Steve Pettinari, Debbie Pettinari, Mark Pettinari, along with grandson Jonathan Pettinari.

Lola will be fondly remembered for her great sense of humor and many loving things she did for her family over the years.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate you considering a donation to Sangre de Cristo Hospice.

Her memorial service will be held Monday, August 16 at 10 a.m. at the Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, Co., with a reception to follow at Amanda’s Fonda, 3625 W. Colorado Avenue.

  2. We are greatly saddened to hear of Lola’s passing but rejoice in the fact that she is now with the Lord Jesus and suffers no more.
