Marilyn Ruth Fiday
Marilyn “Mernie” Ruth (Beaudry) Fiday, age 95, passed away on April 23, 2017 at The Residence at Village Green in Colorado Springs.
She was born on March 16, 1922 to Raymond Beaudry and Glenna (Alstott) Beaudry. On June 28, 1941, she married Raymond Joseph Fiday in Joliet, Illinois where they lived until 1968, then they moved to Colorado Springs.
Marilyn worked at Hewlett Packard in Colorado Springs for 19 years. She was also an active member of First United Methodist Church, American Business Women Association, and the Senior Center as well as helping with various charities. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, gardening, traveling and cheering on the Cubs.
She is survived by her four children: Raymond Joseph (Gloria), Ruth Ann VanDerWege (John), Dawn Marie Jacobs (David) and Michael Dennis; four grandchildren: Hans Eric VanDerWege, Lynn Amber Kueck (Bleys), Valerie Paige Fischer (Donevan), and Audra Nicole Stephenson; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Glenn.
A visitation for all will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 27th and the funeral 10 a.m. Friday, April 28th at Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd.
