Mary was born in Hartville, Ohio to Benedict and Anna (Hochstetler) Beachy who preceded her in death. She is survived by sisters: Fannie (Fred) Hostetler from Millersburg, Ohio; Katie (John) Sommers from Minerva, Ohio; Edith (Floyd) Miller from Colorado Springs; and Martha (Bill) Gingerich from Hartville, Ohio.

Preceding her in death besides parents were her brother, Jacob Beachy; and five half brothers: Daniel Beachy, Moses Hochstetler, Enos, John and Noah Mullet; and two half sisters: Ella (Beachy) Weaver and Lucy (Mullet) Gingerich.

Mary went to school in Ohio and first trained as an LPN in Akron, Ohio and after working a few years decided to return to Akron University to finish training as an RN. After working in the Akron Hospitals for a few years, she moved to Colorado Springs and worked at Memorial Hospital until she suffered from cancer and finally went to Home Health Care until she retired.

Mary enjoyed gardening, raising vegetables and flowers, and loved reading and also was able to travel in the U.S., Europe several times, Egypt, and Mexico.

Mary was baptized in the Mennonite Church in Ohio and attended several churches when she moved to the Springs.

Memorial Services will be held at Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 4:30 p.m.
