Mary was born to Rodney and Marjorie (Bramer) Olson in Colorado Springs, where she resided her entire 69 years. She graduated from Harrison High School in 1970.
She retired from the Gazette Newspaper after 30 years but continued her part time job at Viewpoint Retirement where she was friends with staff and residents.
Mary enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and painting and was fond of gatherings with friends and family to play board games. She also liked her outings with her Red Hat friends.
She is preceded in death by her father Rodney and brother Richard.
She is survived by her children; Kristina Heifner of Hastings NE, Rachel (Heifner) Vaiaoga of Omaha NE; her mother Marjorie (Bramer) Olson of Colorado Springs; 7 grandchildren, Jared Heifner, Justin Orcutt, Joshua Heifner, Garrett Orcutt, Jaylynn Vaiaoga, Janelle Vaiaoga and Sterling Orcutt and 2 great-grandsons Lorenzo Vaiaoga and August Heifner-Varela.
A private family memorial gathering will be held.
