Mary Murphy, age 93, a longtime resident of Colorado Springs, passed away on September 21, 2013 at a local hospice. She was a retired waitress who had worked for many country clubs and exclusive restaurants in Colorado, Texas, and California.
Mary Joann Dennis was born on August 5, 1920 in Boswell, Oklahoma to the late Joseph Henry and Nova (Fugat) Dennis. She graduated from High School in Oklahoma and raised a family while working in various restaurants.
She is survived by her children: Ronald (wife, Khamfanh Phanthaly) Stell of Phoenix, Arizona; Roseann Barnes of Enid, Oklahoma; Robert Hanson and Joe Massengale, both of Colorado Springs. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter: Sandra “Mickey” Mell; and a son: Michael Stell.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m .on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Beit Ad-Ani Yisrael (the Faith Covenant Church building) 4965 Barnes Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80917.
