Michael “Mike” James Wolinski, age 72, passed away on September 5, 2025, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born on August 20, 1953, in Detroit, Michigan, the 4th of 8 siblings.
Michael served honorably in the U.S. Army for three years. To begin that adventure, he traded his Harley for a van and he and his wife Diane came to Colorado to start the next chapter of their life together and family. Loving Colorado and deciding to stay, he was honorably discharged from the military and started the first part of his career at HP, working his way up to journeymen electrician. He then continued the second part of his career as an electrician for District 11, where he was a well-respected team member of the electrical shop and made life-long friends.
He was a serious but kind man. Michael loved music, being outside working on the yard or gardening, bonsai plants, building and fixing things, fishing and golf, but most of all his 3 grandchildren. He was a steadfast presence, deeply committed to his loved ones and work.
He is survived by his wife, Diane; daughters, Natasha and Alainna; grandchildren: Liam, Miles, and Rubi; and siblings: Cindy, Lynne, Cheri, Laurie, and Brian. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leokadya and Arthur; brother, David; and sister, Deanne.
A service to celebrate Michael’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m., with reception to follow, on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 E. Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pikes Peak Hospice and Palliative Care.

Mike was a great neighbor. Our days of not seeing Mike in the yard watching out for the neighborhood are going to be very sad days.
Everybody that watched our house would say “oh yeah we met Mike.”
