Michael passed away August 21, 2014 after a prolonged struggle with the complications of Type 1 Diabetes. He was a long time resident of Colorado Springs. In the 1980s Mike enjoyed spelunking and was co-owner of a tourist cave in South Dakota. After that he spent many years travelling the country as a stand-up comedian working with entertainers like Sinbad, Paula Poundstone, Jay Leno, Jerry Seinfeld, Lewis Black, Steve Schirripa, Roseanne Barr and Judd Apatow. More recently he was self-employed as a computer tutor for senior citizens.

Mike was born in San Diego, California to Carl Maynard Lindsay, who preceded him in death and Judith Ann (Crandell) Gephart on October 24, 1961. He graduated from Wasson High School in Colorado Springs in 1979, he was a leader in Junior Achievement.

MIchael is survived by two brothers; Stephen Lindsay (Stacey) of San Diego and Bradley Lindsay (Kimberly) of Colorado Springs, one sister, Melissa Crumpton (Alex) of San Antonio. He is survived by his Uncle Duane Lindsay, Uncle Fred Crandell, and Aunt Hennie Drilling, nieces and nephews; Cory Wolcott, Alisa Lindsay, Carl Lindsay and Alex Crumpton, Jr. and great niece Audrianna Wolcott. Michael is survived by ex-wife, yet still significant other, Carol Lindsay. He is also survived by beloved step siblings; Annie Marie, Thelma, Christine, Roberta and extended family in Michigan, Arizona, Oregon and Washington to include close cousins Wade, Quinn, Debia, Deana, Debbie, Laura, Ward, Scott and Matthew.

MIke was preceded in death by his brother Jeff Lindsay, his step father Alvie Gephart, Uncle Tom Crandell, niece Katie Ann Lindsay and step brother Alan Hill.

Mike had a love for life and his ever present good nature, wit and humor was a source of delight for those around him. He enjoyed attending Sky Sox and Rockies games and was a huge fan of the Denver Broncos. He loved trivia and watched Jeopardy regularly having an on-going bet of a nickel on final Jeopardy with his mother. Being a contestant on the Wheel of Fortune in the early 1980’s was one of the topics he liked to joke about. Another favored activity was attending plays and musical theater.

There will be a Celebration of Life followed by a light luncheon reception on Wednesday, August 27th at 12:00 noon at Phantom Canyon Brewing Company, 2 East Pikes Peak Avenue (3rd Floor Zebulon Pike Room), Colorado Springs, CO 80903.
