Midia A. Bennett

Midia A. Bennett, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1962, passed away on December 4, 2012. She was a loving mother and homemaker.

Midia was born on January 2, 1924 to Basil and Luise (Steim) Giannakopoulos in Germany. She married Everett H. Bennett on November 12, 1949 in Berlin.

Midia is survived by her son, Basil (wife, Sarah) Bennett; and three grandchildren: Ashley, Lucas, and Catherine Bennett. She was preceded in death by her husband, Major Everett E. Bennett; two brothers; and a sister.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, December 7, 2012 at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard. Private entombment will be at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Garden of Angels.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Midia’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1445 North Union Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909.

She will be dearly missed.
