Mildred M. Osburn Carneal passed from this life into God’s eternal rest on October 25, 2015, at the age of 94, at the Medalion Senior Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

She was born in Limon, Colorado on October 8, 1921 to Elmer and Mary Blanche Engle. Her family then applied for a Homestead and moved about 20 miles south, where she was raised. She worked in Colorado Springs at the age of 16 cleaning houses. During her life she worked at Emerson Electric, Vicon Instruments and retired from Hewlett-Packard after 12 years in 1986.

She is survived by her daughter, Juanita Porter, and son-in-law, Gene Porter, of Falcon, Colorado; four grandchildren: Dixie Anderson of Falcon, Colorado, Daryl Porter of Colorado Springs, Darla Olson of Falcon, Colorado, Dwain Porter of Wildomar, California; one sister, June Doan of Spokane, Washington; one brother, Wayne Engle of Hawesville, Kentucky; eight great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren; four stepchildren: Darreld and Larry Carneal, Arlene Felch and Betty Stockman; as well as numerous step-grandchildren and step-great- and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Arnold “Mike” Osburn and Russell Carneal; parents, Elmer and Mary Blanche Engle; 5 brothers: Leland, Audra, Stanley, Henry and Armond Engle; one grandson, Jared Olson; and one stepson, Albert Carneal.

A visitation will be from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 1, at Shrine of Remembrance in Colorado Springs. Graveside services will be at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, November 2, at Fairview Cemetery, Colorado Springs. A celebration of life service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Grace Community Church, 9475 Grace Church View, Falcon.
