
Nell D. Holt, age 91, a longtime resident of Colorado Springs since 1954, entered eternal life on September 9, 2025. Nellie, as known to many, worked for Current Inc for many years. After her retirement her focus shifted to her family and taking care of them. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandma, and mother-in-law.
Nell entered life on February 4, 1934 in Wayne County, North Carolina. She was born to Jake and Della Smith. She was raised on her family farm for numerous years until she went to live with her Uncle Percy and Aunt Emma. She married Ransom (R.E.) Holt on October 1, 1955 in Dillon, South Carolina. Together they saw many places all over the world due to R.E. being in the United Stated Air Force. After retiring she enjoyed being outside working around her house, golfing, enjoying time with close friends, and most importantly spending time with her loving family.
Nell is survived by her daughter Dee (Charlie) Brown, grandson Dustin Brown, grand dogs Echo, Raven, and Waylon Brown, and niece Judy Williams. Nell was greeted at the pearly gates by her beloved husband R.E. Holt, her parents, and numerous friends and family that she all loved dearly.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 PM.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025 at 1:00 PM at the United States Air Force Academy Cemetery. To attend the service please reach out to the family for instructions.
