Norma Elaine Anderson passed on February 4, 2014. She was born the last of 10 children to Otto and Elizabeth Koskinen in Palmer, Michigan. She is survived by her husband, Clarence “Cal”; four children: Kay C. Mast, Steve (Maureen), and Laura (Bob) Uhlenhopp all of Colorado Springs, and Jeanne Schmidt of Denver; 9 grandchildren: Dawn (Terry) Fizer of Alabama, Brian, Stephanie (Randy) Streeter, Todd (Kara) Karl, Lowell Karl, Kayleigh (Paul) Sheble all of Colorado Springs, Shannon Karl of Ouray, Colorado, Thomas and Joseph Schmidt of Denver; 4 great-grandchildren: Alexis and Reagan Fizer, Austin Streeter, and Grace Karl; and 1 brother, Robert Koshinen of California; sisters-in-law: Connie Tordato of Illinois, and Nancy Kamppinen of Michigan.

Norma was raised in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and was proud to be a “Yooper.” She attended business school after graduation and became a comptometer operator, a forerunner to computer data entry. Norma married her high school sweetheart Clarence “Cal” Anderson in 1950. They started married life in the Army/Air Corps, later the Air Force, with moves to New Jersey, California, Canada, Wisconsin and settled down in Colorado Springs in 1963. Over the years, Norma worked at Sinton’s Dairy and for various small businesses in the area.

Jesus Christ was Norma’s Lord and Savior and she worshiped Him every day in prayer and praise. Norma was a Deaconess at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. She led many classes, was in the choir, was active in Women Aglow, Stephen’s Ministry, and was a founding member of Mission Medical Clinic. Norma gave comfort to anyone who crossed her path and needed to hear about Jesus.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 1318 North Circle Drive, Colorado Springs, Colorado. A potluck luncheon reception will follow the service at the church.
