By God’s abundant grace, Roger Eugene Beck, age 74 went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 12, 2025. Roger was a lifelong resident of Colorado Springs and a true West-Sider. He was born on December 8, 1950 to the late Keith Douglas Beck and Angelyn Loetscher Beck.
Roger grew up on the west side of Colorado Springs. He went to Buena Vista Elementary, West Jr. High and was a 1969 graduate of Palmer High School. After attending Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado, he worked as a contract driver for D & E Mail Contractors for 36 years in Colorado Springs.
The world has lost a king of living and loving life. Roger loved anything outdoors, hunting, fishing (11 Mile Reservoir was his favorite), dirt biking, skiing, Broncos football and camping with family and friends at the family ranch on the Arkansas River. Poge (nicknamed by his father) will be deeply missed by his many cousins, family members and a wide circle of dear friends. He had a unique sense of humor, an infectious smile and laugh. He was the kind of individual that could ground and recenter what is truly important in life: family, friendships, and the miracle of being alive. He had an unmatched appreciation for the simple things in life, and his sincere kindness and generosity was extended to all that he met.
He is survived by his son David H. Beck; brother Albert (wife Gaye) Beck; stepsister Tami Gaddis; two nieces: April B. Smith and Jessica (husband James) McFarland; eight great nephews and nieces: Reece, Shane, Liam, Jasmine, Kate, Aubrey, Meredith and Bodhi. Roger was preceded in death by his son Brian Keith Beck; father Keith Douglas Beck and mother Angelyn Joyce Beck; and stepbrother Randy Bales; along with his treasured dogs Raleigh, Toby, Bozo, Molly (and Woody the Kitty) who brought him years of unconditional love and joy.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, August 22, 2025 at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 East Fountain Blvd. Officiant will be Reverend Gene Steinkirchner. A reception will immediately follow the services across the street at the Olympian Plaza Reception and Event Center, 975 South Union Boulevard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Roger’s name to Rocky Mountain Cancer Assistance, 1385 South Colorado Blvd., #714, Denver, CO 80222.

Roger’s photo pops up. He was one of nicest individuals I had the privilege to know. I only knew Roger for 5 or 6 years but he made me feel welcome and part if his life. Generous, caring, giving and I could on and on with how he made everybody he came in contact with his friend. Heaven has gained a great soul. We love you Roger Rest in Peace my friend.

I just heard of Roger’s passing. I’m so sorry for your loss. Roger was my brother in-law for many years. For a little guy he was larger than life. He made friends wherever he went. He was so funny. We spent hours around Grandma’s table, laughing, playing cards. My Grandfather and Roger were like peas and carrots. The world was a better place with Roger in it. Rest in Peace brother.
