Rosemary J. Gaddini, age 88, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025. She was a resident of Colorado Springs for 53 years.
Rosemary was born on November 18, 1936, to Ferdinando and Rosalia Savastano in Trieste, Italy. She married Gino and moved to Chicago where they started their family. They later moved to Colorado. They celebrated 65 years together.
Rosemary was a wonderful seamstress. She loved making, fixing and sewing clothes for her family and friends. Her family was most important to her. She loved spending time with her children and especially her grandchildren. Rosemary loved playing cards with family and friends and would often be caught burying a “red three” without others seeing. She loved to dance and would make us smile with her mispronunciation of words. She enjoyed drives with the family in the mountains and Sunday family dinner was the highlight of her week. She will be missed by her family and friends.
Rosemary is survived by her sister, Fernanda Maugeri; children: Audrey Ko, Diana (Buddy) Warner, Barbara (David) Cavender, Chris Franklin, Gina (Daniel) Shocklee and Greg Gaddini; grandchildren: Matthew, Erica, Heather, Julie, Brittany, Adam, Kristyn, Ryan, Wesley, Zachary, Luke, Brianna and Robyn; thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband, Gino Gaddini; son-in-law, Joseph Ko; granddaughter, Shannon Ko; sisters, Franca Devescovi and Liliana Katalenas; and brother, Leno Savastano.
The family of Rosemary would like to thank Gentiva Hospice for loving our mom until the end. We especially thank Dena and Nick, her nurses; Kim, her social worker; and Deacon Dave, her spiritual advisor. You were a blessing to our mom and to our family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
There will be a Memorial Mass and interment later this summer. Updated information will be found here…
