Ross Baptist
Ross Baptist, a Colorado Springs resident for 42 years, passed away August 7, 2012. He was a teacher.
Ross was born on August 9, 1920 in Durant, Oklahoma to Robert B. and Ethel A. (Tapscott) Baptist. He married Bonnie Jean Wilsey on September 1, 1946 in Evansville, Indiana. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II and earned a Bronze Star for distinguished service.
He enjoyed carpentry, wood-working, nature, hiking, Bible study, and gardening. But most of all he truly loved his family.
Ross is survived by his sons: Robert (wife Pamela) Baptist and Ron (wife Beverly) Baptist; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and an infant son, Robert.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Seventh-day Adventist Church, 3180 East Main Street, Canon City, CO 81212.
