The sun rose for Sayoko “Betty” Harris on January 25, 1933 in Kagoshima, Japan. She was a loving housewife and a nurturing mother, grandmother, and friend. The sun set for her on March 19, 2012.
She is survived by her husband: Robert of Colorado Springs; her daughters: Junko (husband, David) Taylor; and Tanya McCarty; her son: Benny (wife, Pamela) Pugh, Jr.; her grandchildren: Daniel, Kyle, Mark (wife, Lourdes), Leah, David III, Andrew, Amanda, Angela, Rachael and Alex; and great-grandchildren: Jermaine and Mariah. She was preceded in death by her son: William McCarty II in 1995.
Private family services are planned. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
Sayoko was loved by her family and many friends and will be dearly missed.
