Sharon R. Quay Age, 84, a longtime resident of both the Woodland Park and Colorado Springs areas, passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at her home in Canon City, Colorado.

Sharon was a career woman who spent most of her working years in Denver, but her accomplishments and experience took her to several cities such as Chicago and Minneapolis. She was proud to have been Director for the Rampart Library District of Teller County, for Woodland Park and Florissant, Colorado.

Sharon had a variety of roles in her life: daughter, sister, aunt, friend, executive, confidante, leader; all of which she excelled at, but none made her prouder than being Owen’s mother.

She was a member of Grace and St. Stephens Episcopal Church as well as Chapel of Our Saviour in Colorado Springs, and of Christ Episcopal Church in Canon City.  She loved to knit, read, and gamble. She also loved her Yorkies – Bitsy, Stormy, Sunny, Tuffy and most recently, Skippy.

She is survived by her life partner: Craig Seyfried of Canon City; her nephew: John Thomas Spencer of Colorado Springs; and a brother: Thomas (wife, Carolyn) Russell of Colorado Springs; daughter-in-law: Jan DiFrancia of Lone Tree. Also surviving is her cousin: Janine James of Rapid City, South Dakota; Marilyn Jorgensen and William Myerholt of Hurley, South Dakota; and several nieces and nephews. Her parents, Tom and Gwen; sister, Donna; and son, Owen, preceded her in death.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rampart Library District of Teller County, (Woodland Park and Florissant, Colorado).

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 16, 2018 at Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd.  Inurnment will follow at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Columbarium of True Love.  A reception will follow inurnment at the Olympian Plaza Reception and Event Center, 975 S. Union Blvd.

  3. Sharon was a friend, a wonderfully strong personality, and fellow partner at Boettcher and Co. She was always there for our employees, especially as the company was downsized and merged. I am sure I speak for so many of those B&Co folks that were cared for and supported by Sharon.
