
Todd David Flannigan, age 59, after fighting a 3.5-year battle with stage 4 colon cancer, peacefully passed away in Colorado Springs, CO, at Penrose-St. Francis Hospital. He was born on December 31, 1965, in Grand Island, NE, at St. Francis Hospital to Linda Abel and David Flannigan. He proudly served in the Navy and was stationed in Honolulu. He went on to pursue a career in sales. Todd was a big sports guy, enjoyed fishing and loved spending time with his family.
He was passionate about contributing to the research and development of cures for cancer. He found a new purpose in empathizing with and encouraging other cancer patients through their own journeys.
Todd is survived by his wife, Tammy; his children: Amber, Alex (grandchildren, Leilani and Hendrik), and David; bonus children are Josh (Katy; grandchildren, Lenny and Rowdy) and Danielle (Tommy; grandchildren, Brave and Harlowe); his mother, Linda Abel; his stepfather, Ray; and sisters: Jodie, Michelle, and Sunni.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Carl and Joyce Stobbe, his father, David Flannigan, and his sister Jackie Boehm.
Todd was known for his charisma, sense of humor, loyalty, and generosity. He was admired for his positive outlook in life. His strong faith in the Lord gave him the courage to persevere in the face of adversity.
A celebration of Todd’s life will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 3pm at Fellowship of the Rockies, 1625 S 8th St., Colorado Springs, CO 80905, followed by food and drinks at 5pm at Phantom Canyon Brewery, 2 E Pikes Peak Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.
Todd was a warrior and fought with a shield of faith and a sword of the Spirit. He will be missed dearly but lives on in the hearts of his family and friends.
