Vella Ann Bryant Deal Barnhouse, 83, passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2014 at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs. Vella was born on August 19, 1931 in Santa Monica, California to the late Ernest and Cecile (Bond) Bryant.
She was a devoted homemaker, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an avid quilter, and lover of cats, who will be truly missed by all.
Vella is survived by her sons, Glen (Linda) Deal and Danny Ray Deal; daughters: Gwen (Gary) Hardwick, Judy (Don) Hillin and Brenda Kay (Mike) Sperry; grandchildren: Patrick Deal, Jennifer Moreno, Chris Hardwick, Carrie Reinhold, Michelle Kilgo and Nicole Mutchler; great grandchildren: Eden, Alyssa, Ryan, Embery, Andrew, Corin, Nole, Jeremy, Kalynn, Hope, Taylor, Brayden, Isiaha, Pheobe, Kyle, Corey, Caleb and James. She is also survived by many cousins and close friends.
Visitation will be held at the Shrine of Remembrance “Gate of Heaven” Mausoleum, 1730 E. Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910 on Friday, September 5, 2014 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 Hancock Expressway.
