What impressed me most was her dedication to students, and she went over and above for so many. She was one of the kindest, down to earth people that I know. May she rest in peace.

  11. Virginia was such a part of my children’s lives at Falcon Elem. They never had the privilege of having her a a teacher but she was an advocate of all SPED kiddos. Years after Falcon Elem she was my go to when I had an issue with SPED. She had such a love for all children and I was so honored to call her a friend.

  12. Virginia was one of the first people to welcome me at Falcon Middle School in 1985. We were on common grounds working in Special Education together. She was an outstanding speech therapist with her profound knowledge & caring personality. Her smile was always accompanied by her twinkling, mischievous eyes. My condolences, Paula.

  13. I knew Virginia from Falcon Elementary School in D49. She was my go to person for IEP scheduling, IEP laws, and parental rights. She assisted me many times when fighting for my sons rights at the middle school. She was funny and could make you laugh by telling you stories of her adventures with her students. She cared for every student she came in contact with even if she did not work directly with them. She followed her students even after their graduation. She was a special lady.

  19. Today, October 16th, would have been Virginia’s 72nd birthday. Finding the right words to express my grief, sorrow, loss and what Virginia meant to me has proven quite difficult. Words never seem enough, sometimes too much and never right. Virginia came into my life 50 years ago. I was 15. She was a college friend of my sister. Their friendship grew into a lifelong relationship I liken to the biblical friendship of David and Jonathan. Virginia was a force of positivity in my life. Helping to shape many of my values and decisions. Always for my betterment. There are no words to truly express the loss her passing has made in my life. She was indeed closer than a friend. A life mentor, fiercely loyal and loving. Someone to my great fortune to have had in my life. Never to be forgotten and always cherished and loved.
