Wanda E. Young age 66, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1974, passed away on Thursday at a local hospital. She was a retired Pharmaceutical Procurer, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Wanda Elaine Gabriel was born on March 29, 1948 in Melrose, Massachusetts to the late Clarence and Gertrude (Clark) Gabriel. She was a 1966 graduate of Melrose High School. After high school she received a degree in Accounting. She married Russell A. Wallace in 1968. Wanda was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed music, reading and traveling. She later married Joseph M. Young June 28, 2004 at the little white chapel in Colorado Springs.
Wanda is survived by her husband: Joe, her son: William H. Wallace of Colorado Springs, and her brother: Clark H. (Susan) Gabriel of Keller, Texas. She is also survived by a grandson: Sean M. Wallace. She was preceded in death by her brother, Larry.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel. Private inurnment will be at Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado, 80910.
