Wayne Alan Jones – January 12, 2026

“He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother.”  Our brother Wayne, who passed on January 12, 2026, is finally out of his pain and suffering.  No more pills.  No more shots, and no more ugly voices to plague him.  He is at peace with his Lord and Savior.

Wayne Alan Jones was born April 13, 1958, to Mary Kulesa Jones and Lyle Thomas Jones in Ogden, Utah.  Wayne was a 1977 graduate of William Mitchell High School and began his Navy career in August 1977.  He was a wonderful cartoonist and artist and gained the attention of his art teacher to further his talent but chose to follow his father in the military by joining the Navy.  Wayne also loved his music, especially Neil Diamond and Led Zeppelin.

He is survived by his brother, Thomas Lyle Jones of Colorado Springs, Colorado; sister, Linda Shircliffe and husband David of Live Oak, Texas; along with nephews: Brian Shircliffe of Houston, Texas; and Bill Shircliffe of Live Oak, Texas; great-nieces, Melody and Stella Shircliffe; and numerous cousins in Utah, Idaho, and New York.

Wayne was a wonderful brother and will be forever missed.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2026, with a service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
