Wilhelmine A. Kyle, a cherished mother, and devoted wife passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 23, 2025, whose love and faith gave her a quiet strength and a lifelong dedication to family.
Wilhelmine built a home filled with warmth, grace, and an unwavering commitment to her family. Her greatest joy was found in her role as a mother of four children: Alice M. Vroman, Ronald W. Vroman, Christina D. Azzone, and Kevin.
She was a grandmother of three: Megan A. Lukowaik, Logan T. Kyle and Ethen J. Kyle; and great-grandmother too, Mikayla R. Lukowaik.
Wilhelmine’s memory will be cherished by whose lives she touched with her generous spirit, kindness and devotion to family. She will be profoundly missed and forever held in the hearts of those who loved her.
A small memory but it’s the one I will hold on the tightest. It was the last month of her life when my mother, Wilhelmine, was placed in memory care. Endless rules and what she couldn’t have. But for me, the only thing that mattered was seeing her happy. We were on an outing to a little ice cream shop. My heart ached just watching her, her eyes a little lost, her hands frail. I ordered two cones, one single scoop of chocolate and the other strawberry. She ate it with a quiet, blissful concentration, every lick like a small victory. Halfway through her cone she then looked at mine, her eyes suddenly clear and mischievous, reaching for my cone. She held one in each hand and started eating both chocolate and strawberry around her mouth. At that moment, all the rules and confusion and sadness melted away. It was a beautiful, defiant act of pure joy. I will forever carry that memory, not her illness.
A memorial service in honor of Wilhelmine will be held at 10:00AM, Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910. A Burial will follow at 1:00PM, at the Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80925.
