Wilma “Munner” Ruth Baxter – November 6, 2025

February 14, 1928 – November 6, 2025 

Wilma Ruth Baxter, lovingly known to her family and friends as “Munner,” passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, in Monument, Colorado, at the age of 97. 

Born on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1928, Wilma brought love and warmth into the world from the very beginning. She lived a long and beautiful life centered around her family, her faith, and the simple joys of everyday moments. Known for her gentle humor, spunky and kind spirit, and endless patience, she made everyone who knew her feel welcome and cared for. 

Wilma was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gene Baxter, with whom she shared 61 wonderful years of love, laughter, and family adventures. She was also preceded in death by her siblings: Charles Cruse, Glenn Cruse, N.M. Cruse, Max Cruse, Jimmie Cruse, and Kay Graff; son-in-law, Gary Kravig; and her grandson, Koby Kravig. 

She is survived by her siblings, Connie Daly and Rex Cruse; her children: Sherry Kravig, Gary Baxter (Terri Tucker Baxter), and Keith Baxter (Jeanne Bailey Baxter); her grandchildren: Darcy Carter (Barbara), Shad Baxter (Debbie), Brian Baxter, Tammi Morris (Bobby), Nicole Binkley (Brian), Brandi Jackson, Jordan Woodard (Becky), Brittney Veach (Alan), Tyler Woodman, and Grace Woodman; and her great-grandchildren: Zachary Baxter( Danielle), Raeley Nelson (Jaxson), Austin Jackson, Brandon Jackson, Madeleine Costa (James), Morgan Woody (Jesse), Brianna Wiedey (Cole), Brady Binkley, Chance Baxter, Ashton Baxter, Aurora Kravig, Nola Morris, Wyatt Morris, Hirschel Woodard, Avery Veach, and Orson Woodard. She was also blessed with great-great-grandchildren: Addison Baxter, Beckham Nelson, Carson Woody, and Cadence Costa, who will carry her legacy of love forward for generations to come. 

Wilma’s life reflected her generous heart and steadfast love for her family. Whether she was gathered around the table sharing stories, offering a listening ear, or finding joy in watching her grandchildren grow, she embodied the very best of grace and goodness. Her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love will be deeply missed, but the beautiful memories she created will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched. 

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at the Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 East Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80910. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 4400 West Kenyon Avenue, Denver, CO 80236.
