Andrawis Amin Dabit, a Colorado Springs resident since 1985, passed away on July 4, 2023.
Andrawis was born on November 11, 1952, to Amin Nicola Dabeet and Linda Nakhla (Shakar) Dabeet in Ramallah, Palestine. He studied and obtained his master’s degree in Greece. He started his occupation in chemical engineering, working in the oil and gas industry, and became a self-employed entrepreneur. On June 9, 1985, he married Vera Issa Anki in Louisiana.
He was a member of the Parish Counsel at Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church. The church was his first love after his family. He also enjoyed chanting at church, gardening, and playing cards.
He is survived by his wife, Vera Dabit; two sons: Ameen Dabit and Michael Dabit; his daughter, Linda Dabit; his daughter-in-law, Alison Dabit; his granddaughter, Emery Dabit; two brothers: Nicola Dabit and Botros Dabeet; and three sisters: Firyal Habash, Mary Brou, and Elynor Azar.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a Trisagion Service at 6:45p.m. on Monday, July 10, 2023, at Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church, 2215 Paseo Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80907. A mercy meal will follow at Holy Theophany Orthodox Church, 2770 N. Chestnut Street, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80907. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church with a mercy meal following at Romano’s Macaroni Grill, 2510 Tenderfoot Hill Street, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80906.
In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings in Andrawis’ name may be made to Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church.
