Ann Mary Pinell, age 86, passed away on February 22, 2024. She was a resident of Green Mountain Falls and Colorado Springs, Colorado since 1955. She was an ardent follower of Jesus Christ, and a caretaker of all God’s creatures.

Ann was born on November 28, 1937, to Norton Rosentreter and Emma (Fisher) Rosentreter in Oak Harbor, Ohio. She was born the second youngest of five daughters.

Ann’s true life-long passion was taking care of all God’s creatures. She was known as “The Goose Lady of Green Mountain Falls.” For over 30 years, she has cared for and guarded flocks of fowl that homed at the Lake and Gazebo. She once said about a goose named Roy after his death, “He represented such spirit and heart and beauty and love.” Anyone who knew Ann would say the same thing about her life. Ann was very passionate about writing songs and poetry, having several song awards and recognitions with The American Song Festival. She graduated from Manitou High School in 1955, then went onto CU Boulder graduating with a double major in Psychology and Education.

She is survived by her children: John Pinell III, Emma Pinell, and Charles Pinell; five grandchildren; and one sister.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

  2. Remembering you with much love and many happy memories! You were always so kind to me and my sisters and especially, our Aunt Clara.

  3. I knew Ann for about 35 years. All that she went through, in my eyes made her a hero, I’ve never known a more beautiful spirit. Even in the worst of times, she could find a smile and a word of encouragement. She helped all suffering animals that crossed her path. The world sometimes frowns upon that, but she chose to do the right thing. I will always love her and remember her often. She will also be remembered by my children. Ann had to be one of the kindest souls to ever walk the earth. Rest in Peace

  4. Ann, you had a gentle soul and a big heart! Norton and Emma had a beautiful family!
