Tony, age 91, passed away on December 11, 2024.  He was a resident of Colorado Springs since 1976.  He was a retired US Air Force NCO and also served with the Army as a civil servant.

Tony was born on November 12, 1933 to Stephen Yayac and Angeline Roman in Philadelphia, PA.

Tony served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War.  He was selected for embassy guard duty and assigned to the US Embassy in Brussels, Belgium.  While stationed there he met Adrienne Roman, a Belgian native, and they married on May 4, 1956.  Tony described meeting her as the best thing to ever happen to him and they were married for 68 years with Adrienne predeceasing him five weeks earlier.

Tony switched to the Air Force shortly after the birth of their first son Gregory in 1957.   Two twin boys Steven and Douglas, followed in 1966.  Together, the Roman family traveled to various assignments all over the world.  Tony volunteered for a one-year assignment to Vietnam in 1971.  Upon his retirement from the Air Force Tony and Adrienne settled in Colorado Springs for the remainder of their lives.  Tony was a proud military veteran and participated in an Honor Flight to Washington DC.  He appreciated that others recognized his service to America.  Tony and Adrienne moved into an independent living facility, Summit Glen, a year ago and made many new friends.

He is survived by his children, Gregory, Steven and Douglas, his brother Jimmy, sister in law Renee, grandchildren Jordan, Alexander, and Madeline, and three great-grandchildren Violet, Teller and Boone.

A celebration of life took place at Summit Glen at 2PM, Jan 8th, 2025.  Both Tony and Adrienne will be interred at the Pikes Peak National Cemetery with military honors.

  2. Uncle Tony Bologna. Or as he would say, “That’s Mr Bologna to you!” I treasure every time I got to see him. He and my dad maintained a close brother relationship despite differences of age and geographic distance. Uncle Tony and Tante Adrienne were delightful people. Sending love to all of you over in Colorado Springs.
