Cheri Lynn Stevens – November 9, 2025

Cheri Lynn Stevens, age 54, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025, with her beloved daughter by her side. Cheri was a devoted resident of Colorado Springs for 18 years, after spending her earlier years in Monroe and Dundee, Michigan. She dedicated herself to her community as a Kitchen Manager at Remington Elementary School (D49), where her kindness and laughter touched many.

Born on September 10, 1971, in Port Huron, Michigan, to Michael Symon and Shirley (Layton) Symon, Cheri developed a lifelong love for reading, baking, and gaming. However, her greatest joy was being a loving mother to her 16-year-old daughter, Sammi. Cheri’s faith was an important part of her life; she was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and attended Nazarene Bible College, deepening her spiritual journey.

Cheri is survived by her cherished daughter, Samantha Stevens (of Colorado Springs), and her brother, Donald Symon (of Michigan). She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and sister, Cynthia Darlene Symon. Cheri will be remembered for her generous heart, unwavering love, and the warmth she brought to everyone around her.

My deepest sympathies for the loss of Cheri. We went to high school, college and I was part of her wedding party. She was truly a special person and a friend to all who knew her. She will be dearly missed.

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord,
and let Your perpetual light shine upon her.
May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed

My deepest sympathy. Cheri had the most contagious smile. I keep thinking back to 8th grade English. We had to do a game show presentation with a commercial. Our group agreed to do the Tootsie pop commercial. Cheri was the owl checking how many bites it took to get to the center of the Tootsie pop. She did 1, 2, and tried 3 but couldn’t get that last bite in. We all laughed. But Cheri had such a big belly laugh! It is such a great memory of her.
Praying for you all during this time.
