Doris was born on August 20, 1946 to Frank Edward Heaton and Marianne (Miska) Heaton in Germany. She attended Widefield High School and Fountain High School, and she graduated from Stuttgart American High School in Germany.
She was a homemaker and travelled throughout Europe as a result of her husband’s military service.
She is survived by her son, Frank Edward Spurr (wife Sandi); two daughters: Michele Edgar and Deborah Spurr; her mother, Marianne Heaton; a sister, Darleen Safford (husband Paul); 3 grandchildren: Maggie Spurr, Aston Spurr, and Victoria Edgar; and 1 great-grandson, Luke Edward Spurr. She was preceded in death by her father.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80910. Inurnment will take place at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Alcove of Forgiveness.
