Elaine Louise Farmer – October 5, 2026

Elaine Louise Farmer, age 93, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2026 just days before her 94th birthday. She had been a resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado, for 32 years and was formerly a resident of La Verne, California.

Elaine was born on October 17, 1932, in Los Angeles, California, to Eugene Everette Herrick and Martha Otelia Emma Blaesing Herrick. On June 24, 1950, she married the love of her life, Henry Paul Farmer, in Altadena, California. Together they built a loving family and shared many happy years of marriage.

Throughout her life, Elaine devoted herself to caring for others and expressing her creativity. She worked as a realtor and was known as an exceptionally talented seamstress. After moving to Colorado, she enjoyed putting her decorating talents to use while working at Hobby Lobby. Whether sewing, decorating, or baking for family and friends, Elaine approached everything she did with enthusiasm, excellence, and love.

Elaine lived by the motto: “Always look your best, do your best, and be your best.” She embraced life with remarkable energy, joy, and determination. Her infectious spirit, positive attitude, and sparkling personality touched everyone she met.

Above all, Elaine’s greatest passion was her faith in Jesus Christ. She openly shared her love for the Lord with anyone willing to listen and found strength and comfort in Scripture. Among her favorite passages were 1 Corinthians 13, Proverbs 3:5-6, and Isaiah 41:10. She also cherished praying the Lord’s Prayer. Elaine’s deepest desire was to leave a godly legacy for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, a legacy of faith, love, perseverance, and grace. Her final request was that each surviving member of her family come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior and experience the hope and eternal promise found through faith in Him.

Elaine is survived by her loving children, Judith Curtis, Richard Farmer, and Laura Firtko; her cherished grandchildren, Heather Ridenour, Holly Curtis, Ian Farmer, and Andy Farmer; her beloved great-grandchildren, Mikayla Curtis, Paige Patton, Kassidy Ridenour and Kamdyn Ridenour, and great-great grandchildren, Thea Farmer and Mateo Curtis.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Henry Paul Farmer; her brothers, Norman Herrick and Everett Herrick; and her sister, Joy Chapman.

Elaine will be inurned alongside her beloved husband at Riverside National Cemetery in California.

Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing that her legacy of faith, love, kindness, and devotion to family will live on for generations to come.
