It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Elizabeth A. Reighley, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left this world on July 6, 2026, just shy of her 87th birthday. Born on July 10, 1939, in Rochester, New York, Elizabeth was the cherished daughter of Augustinus Boudens and Lydia Boudens, who preceded her in death.
Elizabeth’s journey in life was marked by her remarkable intelligence and spirited wit. She was a woman of many talents, with a mind as sharp as her sense of humor. Her ability to embrace challenges with grace and enthusiasm was a testament to her resilient spirit.
Elizabeth dedicated much of her professional life to serving as a legal secretary in California. Later, she brought her skills and professionalism to Colorado Springs, where she worked as a secretary for El Paso County Gas. Her meticulous nature and dedication to her work were admirable traits that earned her the respect of colleagues and friends alike.
A deeply spiritual woman, Elizabeth was a longtime parishioner of The Divine Redeemer Catholic Church, also known as the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Mother of the Divine Redeemer, in Colorado Springs. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, providing her with strength and comfort throughout her years.
Beyond her professional and spiritual pursuits, Elizabeth found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid multi-media artist and crafter, pouring her creativity into numerous projects that brought beauty and joy to those around her. Her love for reading transported her to worlds beyond imagination, and her loyal dog, Mia, was her constant companion on many cherished walks.
Elizabeth is survived by her devoted brother, Larry Boudens, and her loving children: son, Rusty Howie, and his wife Gerry; daughters, Tracy Kouns and her husband Ron; and Cindy Lawless and her husband Leonard. Her legacy lives on through her eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, each of whom carries a piece of her indomitable spirit.
She was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Lisa Barbieri, whose memory she held close to her heart.
A private ceremony will be held to honor Elizabeth’s life and bid her a fond farewell. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Elizabeth’s memory to Feed the Poor, an organization close to her heart.
Elizabeth A. Reighley will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her unparalleled wit, and her unwavering love for her family. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and creativity that will continue to inspire all who knew her. May she rest in peace, forever loved and never forgotten.
