Frank William “Wild Bill” Roberts Jr. – October 15, 2026

May 11, 1957 – October 15, 2026

It is with a heavy heart that I share Bill Roberts passed away on October 15 at home. Many of you knew him from the rodeo, out hunting and fishing, or as the friend who always had a dog nearby. Good night, my brother Bill. I love you and will miss you. Rest easy.

Frank William Roberts Jr., known to everyone as Bill, Billy, or Wild Bill, passed away on October 15, 2026, at the age of 69. Bill was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to Frank and Mabel Roberts. He grew up in Colorado Springs, where he lived out the rest of his life.

Bill was happiest outdoors. He loved the rodeo, riding bucking horses and working as a pickup man, and the arena was where he truly came alive. He loved to hunt, he loved to fish, and he never met a dog he didn’t love. He was also a quietly gifted artist, talented at woodworking, carving, and sculpting. He could draw just about anything, though few people ever knew it. He was everybody’s friend. He could be an ornery jerk at times, and he’d be the first to admit it, but underneath it all he had a good heart, and the people around him always knew it.

Bill is survived by his son, Kyle Haines, and his sister, Wendy Finley. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mabel Roberts.

Bill will be missed, and the arena, the woods, and the waters won’t quite be the same without him.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at the Mill Hill Saloon. Family and friends are welcome to come share stories and raise a glass to Wild Bill.
