Gloria Alberta Nicholson was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado on February 28, 1946, to Martha Vialpando and Albert Ignoti. She was the eldest of 7 siblings.

She grew up and attended school in Fountain, Colorado and subsequently pursued a Bachelor’s degree at Bethune-Cookman University in Florida. Additionally, she also attended and graduated from cosmetology school, first focusing on a career in beauty services. However, cosmetology was not her calling. Caring for those with special needs was her true calling. It was because of this passion she became a lifelong Host Home Provider. But her kindness did not end there. Later in her life, she opened and operated a day programming business targeted to aiding those with special needs.

Gloria loved to watch older, western movies and Criminal Minds. Additionally, she was passionate about her heritage and often took road trips to delve more deeply into her background. She was an avid gambler and enjoyed frequent getaways to Cripple Creek.

She is survived by her daughter, Marjay E. Alexander (Michael Alexander: son-in-law); her son, Michael Juan Mascotti; brother, Edward Birdtail; and two sisters: Susan Warren and Melinda Sloan (Les: brother-in-law). She is also survived by her grandchildren: Michael Shane Mascotti (Emily: granddaughter-in-law), Reuben J. Mascotti (Katie Joe: granddaughter-in-law), Jenny Sullivan (David: grandson-in-law), Michael W. Alexander, Jr., and Adonica McCray. Lastly, she was a proud grandmother to 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Jerry, Nicky, and Levi.

On May 20, 2022, Gloria Alberta Nicholson, at the age of 76, was called home to her Creator. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. She was an inspirational force who brought joy to everyone in her life and as such, she will be forever cherished and remembered.
