Jane Catherine Monier, 90, of Colorado Springs, died August 16, 2013 in Longmont, Colorado.

Jane was born in Portland, Oregon on February 24, 1923 to the late Van and Priscilla Wrenn. Her family moved to St. Paul, Minnesota when she was 6. She spent her childhood in St. Paul and graduated from St Joseph’s High School. From there Jane went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Home Economics from the University of Minnesota and a master’s degree in Textile and Design from Kansas State University.

In 1960 she married the late Charles William (Bill) Monier, a widower, and they lived in Aurora, Illinois. Upon her marriage she became loving mother to Mary, age 4, David, age 9, and Kay, age 21. She dedicated herself for many years to providing a happy and stable home for her husband and children. She loved creating order and structure to support her family in their pursuits. Her wardrobe, home and garden reflected her skill and well-developed sense of taste and beauty. Her sharp eye and pointed sense of humor kept all her loved ones on their toes throughout her life. She loved her dogs beginning with Sox, their first poodle. Jane also found time to enjoy participating in social and philanthropic clubs. Jane and Bill were loyal members and supporters of the New England Congregational Church in Aurora and the First Presbyterian Church of Colorado Springs.

Jane and Bill moved to Colorado in 1975. They lived in Denver, Longmont and Colorado Springs. She lived her last years in Highlands Ranch.

Before her marriage, Jane worked for many years for the University of Wyoming extension service in Casper as a home demonstration agent and later in Chicago at the National 4H headquarters. She cared deeply for her 4H kids and treasured traveling around the country with them.

Jane is survived by Mary Monier Stark of Ossining, New York and David Monier of Longmont, Colorado. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
