Jared Austen Maguire – June 27, 2026

In Loving Memory of Jared Austen Maguire

Jared Austen Maguire, 29, passed away on June 27, 2026, following an accident while participating in the sport he loved at a drift event in New York.

Born on September 29, 1996, in Bradenton, Florida, Jared lived a life defined by courage, loyalty, humor, and an unwavering love for the people around him. To know Jared was to love him. He had an infectious smile, a quick wit that could make anyone laugh, and a heart that was far bigger than he ever let on. Beneath his tough exterior was a deeply compassionate man who never hesitated to help someone in need.

Jared proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Forward Observer, completing a deployment to Afghanistan. His service did not end when he returned home. One of the acts that best reflected his character was helping his Afghan interpreter’s family safely immigrate to the United States, a testament to the loyalty and sense of responsibility he carried throughout his life.

Cars were more than a hobby to Jared—they were his passion. Whether turning wrenches in a performance shop, managing a shop, or pushing himself and his car on the drift track, he found joy in every aspect of the automotive community. The outpouring of tributes from that community speaks volumes about the impact he had on those fortunate enough to know him.

Jared also spent years as a long-haul truck driver, navigating some of the harshest winter roads across the northern United States. When others questioned the conditions, his familiar response was simply, “I’m building character.” That phrase perfectly captured his outlook on life—meet challenges head-on, learn from them, and keep moving forward.

Above all, Jared loved fiercely. He is survived by his beloved, Lindsey Conradsen; his parents, Andrew and Shana Maguire; his brother, Isaac Maguire; and his dearest friends, long considered family, Justin and MJ Williams. He also leaves behind countless relatives, friends, fellow veterans, coworkers, and members of the drifting community.

His tire tracks may have ended, but the path he carved through the lives of others will never fade.  A legend in his own right, we know he is absolutely ripping it in the beyond.

Funeral services with full military honors will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at the Shrine of Remembrance at 1730 E. Fountain Blvd. in Colorado Springs. Following the service, family and friends are invited to gather for a car show in Jared’s honor at Up Peak Performance in Colorado Springs. The day will conclude with a toast celebrating Jared’s life at O’Malley’s Pub in Palmer Lake, where stories, laughter, and memories will be shared—just as Jared would have wanted.

The family encourages everyone to honor Jared in the way he lived: lend a hand to someone who needs it, cherish the people you love, embrace life’s adventures, and never be afraid to say yes to the open road. “Stay Wild”
