Javier Alexander Montoya, 26, born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away in his home in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

At a very young age, Javier decided he wanted to be a chef, and it was no surprise to his family that he accomplished his goal. He attended school at Auguste Escoffier, secured an internship at the Broadmoor Hotel, and then was hired as a Sous Chef at the Broadmoor Hotel. Javier was always a very respectful, well-mannered, soft-spoken, kind-hearted man. He was also hilarious due to his larger-than-life sense of humor. He was a reliable, family-oriented person. He held no grudges and was protective of his sisters—a bit too much according to them.

Javier is survived by his mother: Angelina (Rey) Montoya; his father: Frankie Al Montoya; his sisters: Amber Rey and Cynthia Nadine Montoya (RJ Marquez); his nephews: Trevor James Rey, Theo Jay Kiernan, and Dmitri Flynn Marquez.

Javier will be deeply missed as he was dearly loved by his family, friends, and co-workers. A visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, August 4, 2022, with a funeral service to follow on Friday, August 5, 2022, at 10:00 am at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, Colorado. Inurnment Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Song of Mary Columbarium.
