Jeff Jensen – March 19, 2026

Jeff Jensen was born on November 9, 1944, in Akron, Ohio. He grew up in a very close-knit neighborhood.

He graduated from Parsons College in Iowa with a degree in Math.

He served in the United States Air Force for 4 years.  He worked as an Orbital Analyst at NORAD in Cheyenne Mountain in Colorado.  When he left the Air Force in 1972 he was serving in Turkey as a Space Systems Analyst.

After the Air Force, he spent some time in Europe.  Then he returned to the US and got a job at TRW in Southern California.  He really enjoyed working as a Software Systems Engineer.

While at TRW, he joined the ski club, and the sailing club. These hobbies were favorites of his.

During his time working at TRW, he met and married his wife of 46 years, Dana.  They lived in the Los Angeles area, in Huntsville, Alabama, and in Fulton, Maryland. Their first son, Eric, was born in the Los Angeles area.  While living in Alabama, their second son, Adam was born.

In 1996, Jeff and Dana and the boys moved to Colorado Springs.  Jeff worked at Schriever Air Force base, now called Schriever Space Force Base. Jeff worked on a number of NASA programs in his career, and he always enjoyed working on anything related to space exploration.

The Jensen family joined Academy Christian Church in 2000 when it was much smaller than it is now.  The church has grown over the years, but still keeps its friendliness.

Jeff retired from TRW after it became Northrop Grumman. He taught math at Pikes Peak College for 10 years after that.  He wasn’t certain that he would be good at teaching, but he really took to it. He enjoyed the students, and they enjoyed learning from him.

Unfortunately, Jeff was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease in 2021.  He spent the last year of his life in memory care, and died from the disease on March 19, 2026.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Henry, and by his sister, Becky.

He was the love of Dana’s life.  They were married for 46 years.  And now he is with his Lord, Jesus.
