
John Cardenas, age 85, passed away on July 18, 2026. He was a resident of Colorado Springs, CO, for 52 years and was formerly a resident of San Diego, CA.
John was born on March 27, 1941, to Rudolph Cardenas and Lucy (Sedillo) Cardenas in Raton, NM. On July 4, 1987, he married Inge Jungmann in Las Vegas, NV.
John was fond of buying, fixing up, and selling cars. He also enjoyed going to the beach and park, and had an appreciation for just walking around places such as the Broadmoor or the mall. He was a member of Calvary Chapel Eastside and attended Raton High school. He served in the United States Army/Army National Guard.
He is survived by his children, Troy and Christina; his four children by marriage: Claudette, Audie, Rhonda and Robin; his sister, Patricia; his grandchildren: Casey, Cordell, Christopher, Buddy, and John; his grandchildren by marriage: Stone, Casey, Angie, Ronnie, Gavin, Garrett, Damien, Noe and Rachel; as well as a large extended family. He was preceded in death by both of his parents; his brothers: Soloman, Eli, David, and his twin brother Jerry; his sisters, Deloris and Betty; and his wife, Inge.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80910. A reception will be held following the funeral at 4:30 p.m. at Calvary Chapel Eastside, 5070 Edison Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80907.
He is now in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Until we meet again…
