Joseph B Brown, age 63, passed away on June 24th, 2023. He was a resident of Woodland Park for over 15 years and was a former resident of Colorado Springs. He held many jobs in his lifetime but was employed with Lamb Excavating at his time of death.

Joseph was born on October 12th, 1959, to John Brown and Brynetta Brown (Hendrickson) in Crosby-Ironton, Minnesota. On September 13th, 1980, he married the love of his life, Amy Brown (Squires).

Joe was fond of fishing, hunting, camping and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Catholic Church and attended Crosby-Ironton High School and graduated in 1978. After graduating, he served in the United States Navy for two years.

He is survived by his loving wife, Amy; his two daughters, Jolleen Ruberry (Scott) and Alysha Lovato (Kirby); his grandchildren, Corey Merritt, Kylie Lovato, Cheyenne Ruberry, Easton Ruberry; and great grandchild, Jameson Lovato; his brother, Michael Brown (Gina); his sisters, Karen Martello (Charlie), Dianna Millington (Pat), Marietta Passon (Gary), Kathy Sommers, Carmen Brown, Bernadette Brown, Cinde Tomson (Rudy), Barbara Bergie and Sara Brown.

He is preceded in death by his father, John; his mother, Brynetta; and his brother, John Brown.

In August, his family will hold a memorial to scatter his ashes at his favorite camping and fishing spot.

Joe was very hard-working and did everything he could for those he loved. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and his family always came first. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested to send donations to the American Cancer Society.

  4. My Uncle Joe , also my God-father, was a memorable person. I remember his mustache, always above a smile. When I was little, he gave me a white stuffed rabbit with red eyes. I was so happy I named it Thumper…
