Joseph Thiac, age 78, passed away at home on September 2, 2024. He was a resident of Colorado Springs for 35 years and was formerly a resident of LaPlace, LA, a small town west of New Orleans. He was a lifetime educator.
Joe was born on January 31, 1946 to Joseph Thiac, Jr. and Suzanne (Ferro) Thiac. On August 18, 1973 he married Kathryn Wachter in Donaldsonville, LA, where he was born and raised.
Joe was an avid golfer. He also enjoyed deep sea and gulf fishing, and had an appreciation for travel and adventures. He was a member of Fellowship of the Rockies Church and attended Nicholls State University, and graduated in 1972 with his Masters Degree in education.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy; his children: Elizabeth Ashley (Thiac) Martin and her husband, Shaun Martin; and his grandchildren: Avery Quinn Martin and Skylar Grace Martin. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Allyson Suzanne Thiac.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Fellowship of the Rockies on September 21, 2024, 1625 S. 8th St., Colorado Springs, CO 80905.
