Joy Chapman – July 10, 2026

Joy Chapman, 96 years old, passed away on July 10, 2026. She was a resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado for close to 32 years and was formerly a resident of Altadena, California. She was retired from serving the Xerox Company for 32 years.

Joy was born on February 14, 1930, to Eugene Herrick and Martha (Blaesting) Herrick in Los Angeles, California.

Joy was fond of needlepoint and keeping her former neighborhood sparkling clean. She also enjoyed making her famous Honeycomb and had a great love of red roses.

She is survived by her sister, Elaine; nieces, Judy, Richard, and Laura; great-nieces, Heather and Holly; and great-nephews, William, Ian, and Andrew. She was preceded in death by her mother, Martha and father, Eugene; and brothers, Norman, Everet, and Elmer.

Joy lived her life with a spark that never dimmed-quick to laugh, fiercely loyal, and always ready to roll up her sleeves for the people she loved. Her devotion to her younger sister, Elaine was the steady heartbeat of her days; she made it her mission to ensure Elaine was cared for, supported, and surrounded by love. Joy’s spunky spirit, paired with her unwavering dedication to family, leaves a legacy of strength, tenderness, and a life beautifully well-lived.
