Lillian, age 13, passed away on March 6, 2023. Her mother,
Samantha, followed her on March 19, 2023. They had lived in
Colorado Springs for most of their lives, but had recently moved to
Rush, Colorado.

Samantha was born on November 18, 1982 to Richard Hattrich and
Tracey (Adams) Hattrich. On September 17, 2005 she married Jon
Flannery at Shove Chapel in Colorado Springs.

Sam was a mother, a wife, a runner, a gamer, and software engineer.
She loved to cook, and could never seem to have enough animals. She
graduated from Sand Creek High School in 2001.

Lilly was in the 8th grade at Banning Lewis Preparatory Academy. She
was an avid reader, and loved the Wings of Fire books, as well as
Harry Potter. She was learning the guitar after moving on from the
piano. She loved archery and the outdoors.

A memorial service for them will be held at 10:00AM, Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910. Reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers please make donations in Lilly’s and Samantha’s memory to either The Humane Society (https://www.hsppr.org/donate/), because both of the girls loved animals, or to Alive at 25 (https://aliveat25.us/), to help fight against distracted driving.

  7. Jon, my deepest condolences to you and your surviving family. It is unthinkable the scale of what happened and the grotesque recklessness of one driver. Those of us who commute Hwy 24 and Hwy 94 will carry the memory of your family every time we travel these roads.

  8. My heart is broken for the lives taken too early. May your family find peace and may God comfort you all in your grief.
