Linda Aline Young, age 62, passed away on October 30, 2023. Linda was born in Mont-Saint-Michel, France and moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado as an infant. She was a lifelong resident of Colorado Springs. Linda retired from Colorado Springs Utilities in 2012.


She was born on February 6, 1961, to Rudolf J. Weide, and Marianne (Ottenbacher) Weide in Mont-Saint-Michel, France. She graduated from Wasson High School in 1979. On March 7, 1992, Linda married the love of her life, Richard D. Young, in Las Vegas, Nevada.


Linda loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, Oma, and friend. She loved hosting karaoke, being a DJ, riding her bicycle all over town, camping, and was always taking pictures. Linda was the life of the party everywhere she went. She was a member of the Perky Peaks and looked forward to their weekly outings.

After retirement, Linda and Rich were avid snowbirds who loved to travel and spent the majority of their time in Englewood, Florida. While there, she was the fashion show coordinator and helped to plan and participate in many events. She was a humanitarian and always enjoyed helping to better others and making sure that no one went without.


She is survived by her loving husband, Richard Young; her children: Joanne (Kevin) James, Julie Moore, and Janelle Council; her grandchildren: Ashlie Young, Anjela James, Taylor Council, Ashten Vignery, and Akai Council; her great-grandchildren: Shawn Young “Peanut”, Ameer Dixon “Pumpkin”; and her dog, Wedo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rudolf J. Weide and Marianne (Ottenbacher) Weide.


A Celebration of Life will be held from 12:00-3:00PM, on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Fraternal Order of Eagles, 1050 South 21st Street, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80904.
