M. Elane Nicola, aged 88, passed away on September 2nd, 2026. She was a resident of Colorado Springs, CO, for about 56 years and was formerly a resident of Pueblo, CO. She was retired for many years.
She was born on August 21st, 1938, to James Henry Colvin and Laura Blanche (Rector) Colvin in Pueblo, CO., where she attended Centennial High School. She married her beloved husband, Samuel Lee Nicola, on December 8th, 1959, in Pueblo, CO, and was married just under 50 years.
Elane enjoyed gardening and enjoyed bowling with her lady friends. She also had an appreciation for crocheting and taking her daily walks. She was a member of 1st United Methodist Church for many years.
She is survived by her two daughters, Cynthia (Cindy) and Julie, and three grandchildren: Jennifer, Christina, and Jeffery. She has seven great-grandchildren: Bryan, Mikayla, Nathaniel, Maddie, Elayna, Benjamin, and Annika. She has one great-great-grandson, Lucas. Elane also loved and adored her niece, Judy Kay and son, Michael. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, son, Steve, and her husband.
A private family funeral service will be held at the Shrine of Remembrance. Private entombment will be directly following at the Gate of Heaven, Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum.
Memorials may be made in her and her husband’s honor to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, if you so desire.
Elane was a remarkable woman who loved her family and friends dearly and is so loved by them in return. She will be deeply missed by all.
