Max, 84 years old, passed away on October 8, 2022. He was a resident of Colorado Springs since 1984 and lived in many other cities across the country. He worked at McClelland AFB in Sacramento, CA, AiResearch in Phoenix, AZ, Denver Tech Center, and retired from Honeywell after 25 years.
Max was born on March 21, 1938 to Clyde and Lolette (Ing) Bolen in Marion, Illinois. On June 15, 1963 Max married Margaret in Sacramento, California.
Max was fond of fishing, grilling, and RV travelling. He also enjoyed hunting and spending time with family. He was a member of Mountain View Church of Christ, graduate of Community High School in Blue Island, Illinois, and attained a degree from DeVry Technical Institute. He served in the United States Air Force for four years.
Max is survived by his loving wife, Margaret of 59 years; his children Lisa Severt and Karen King and husband Johnny; his brother Gary Bolen and wife Loretta; his grandchildren: Katlynn and Brittney Severt; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Lolette Bolen; his sister, Shirley Bolen; and his daughter, Krista Stannard.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd. in Colorado Springs, CO with a reception to follow.
