Michael Alan Harris, 45, passed away on August 15, 2026. He was a resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado for over 24 years. Michael was a proud team member of Norwood Development Group, serving as a Land Development Team Leader.
Michael was born on September 27, 1980, to Joseph and Kathleen (Boncewicz) Chester in Detroit, Michigan. He was world-raised in an Army family. Michael attended Midland High School (Michigan) and graduated in 1999 before settling in Colorado Springs.
D Mike, AKA “D”, enjoyed a wide range of interests. He was a part of many local groups such as the Detroit Lions Fans of Colorado Springs and Jack Quinn’s Running Club. He loved working out and eating healthy, maybe didn’t love it, but he did it anyway. “D” also regularly participated in outdoor activities like hiking, camping and tubing. He consistently supported his community by generously volunteering and providing resources to countless events involving environmental cleanup, toy drives, food drives and many others.
“D” embraced and was embraced by the Juggalo family for over 30 years. A culture of like-minded individuals, that are a tight-knit and fiercely loyal support system, encouraging being your true authentic self without judgement. And that was “D”. He was unapologetically himself; accepting of everyone, come as you are, just be genuine. “D” looked beyond the external appearance and circumstances, we’re all the same and connected. He believed in lifting each other up and to do no harm, he was endearingly called The Love General by his homies. MCL and just love in general.
“D” touched the lives of many, not just in his inner circle, but globally. He was a hype man for your business or encouraging you to take that chance. Warm, personable, honest, and trustworthy. “D” was a bold advocate for mental wellbeing. Whether he was on the phone with you in the middle of the night talking you through the dark moments and struggles or helping people get a roof over their head, “D” was selfless and knew instinctively what people needed. He knew when to listen, when to give advice, and when someone needed a laugh.
“D” was a kid at heart, a jokester and prankster. His specialty was corny dad jokes. He had a kind and gentle nature, with a soft spot for kids and animals. A high energy morning person since birth, which annoyed his siblings and most likely his co-workers with his enthusiastic, “let’s tackle the day” attitude. “D” lived by the philosophy “it could always be worse.” Not letting the little things get him down because as he always said, “first world problems.” He was also an active content creator which he regularly distributed, free of charge, to everyone. His work can be seen on his water bottles, work cooler, gym lockers, and let’s not forget the lamp post on N. Nevada.
“D” is survived by his loving parents, Joe and Kathee; brother, Joe Chester and wife, Denise; sister, Jen Morocco and husband, Chris; nephews, Christopher Morocco, Jr. and Dylan Chester; best friend & forever plus-one & third future ex-wife, Carissa Shipley; and sweet dog, Miley-Mu. He is preceded in death by his brother, Jim Chester.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 East Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910. A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Shrine of Remembrance. A reception will be held following the celebration of life at Olympian Plaza Reception Center, 975 S. Union Blvd., Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in D Mike’s name to the Humane Society-Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR.org).

Michael was a shining light and inspiration to all he met. He had the biggest, kindest heart. To know Mike was to love him. Michael will be forever loved and missed and he will never be forgotten.
