Michele Ann Morga, 66, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away at her residence on August 27, 2026.
Michele was born on May 23, 1960, in Pennsylvania to Richard Lee Merkle and Dorothy Ann Burns. Michele moved to Colorado shortly after her birth where she graduated from Wasson High School in 1978 and soon began working for ENT Federal Credit Union. Michele went on to build an accomplished career in technology, becoming a GPS software engineer for Lockheed Martin and several other tech companies. After many years of dedicated work, she retired in 2015.
While Michele took pride in her career, some of her greatest joys were found away from work. She loved gardening and had a particular talent for growing peppers. During the years she lived in Grand Junction, Colorado, she developed an impressive garden filled with an assortment of peppers and other plants. Gardening brought her happiness, but nothing compared to the joy she found in her family, especially the time she spent with her grandchildren, Bradic and Kamden.
Michele loved our Lord and Savior, and her faith was an important part of her life. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she has been reunited with those she loved who went before her.
Michele was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Dorothy Merkle; her beloved eldest son, Earl Benjamin Romberger; and her husband of 25 years, Steven Dwight Morga.
She is survived by her son, Zachary Lee Romberger and his wife, Jennifer; her cherished grandchildren, Bradic and Kamden Romberger; her brothers, Roy and Timothy Merkle; her nephews, Breck and Anthony Merkle; and the family and friends whose lives were touched by Michele throughout her 66 years.
Michele will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, wife, and woman of faith. Her garden may have been one of the places where she was happiest, but her family was what she loved most. The memories she created, the family she nurtured, and the love she gave will remain with those who knew her.
A Celebration of Life honoring Michele will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at Cross Fellowship Church, 4808 Palmer Park Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80915.
